(Newswire.net — May 1, 2022) –The hit film American Hustle has been more than another chance for Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence to show off their acting chops. The period film, which takes place in New York in the 1970s has been a veritable trend-setting event.

The glamorous and sometimes over-the-top costumes, hairstyles, and makeup in the film seem to be having a profound effect on beauty trends this winter as women across the country are inspired by the film’s gorgeous looks. For blue and black hair ideas click on our article, it will help you to look more stylish.

Amy Adams’s Con Artist Chic

Actress Amy Adams, who in the film, plays a beautiful and manipulative con artist, showcased several sultry makeup looks that can be easily mimicked with the products that are popular at cosmetic stands right now. Her shadows were rather ornate and playful, often containing three color schemes that included metallic hues and bright blues and greens.

Look for shadow palettes that contain glittery colors, or consider accentuating shadow with a splash of a colorful liner. The sky is the limit when it comes to using color in these schemes, so consider trying more colors or brighter shades than you’re used to.

Jennifer Lawrence’s Feisty Housewife

Classic beauty Jennifer Lawrence stunned in the film by wearing draping gowns and dramatic jewelry. Her high cheekbones were enhanced with a very hefty dose of contouring products like highlighter and bronzer which, in true 70s fashion glimmered and glowed.

Lawrence’s hair was feathered in a truly disco-friendly manner, with large sweeping curls that moved away from her face. This look can be achieved by using a curling iron or rollers and turning curls out around the face and then curling in multiple directions closer to the back of the head.

Lawrence’s character also wore signature nail polish. Bright and bold nail colors are easier than ever to achieve now, with gel shellacs that allow for a full and rich color that does not chip over time.

Other Trends in American Hustle

1970s glitz and glamour can be seen throughout the entire film. Other fabulous makeup trends and ideas include thicker brows, which are brushed with a brow brush and then filled in with a brow liner that is close to the natural color of lashes.

Eyeliner makes a bold appearance throughout, with eyes that are heavily lined on both top and bottom. In this look, as in the movie, it is often best to slightly tip up the edge of the top line to create eyes that have a perky “cat-eye” feel. Brown red is a lipstick color that makes quite an appearance in the film, often lined with a pencil that allows for heavily shaped lips.

In addition to Jennifer Lawrence’s flowing, feathered hair, tighter curls make an appearance on Amy Adams, who has wavy hair. Tighter curls like the ones she sported in the film can be achieved on long hair by using as small an iron as possible and curling smaller strands of hair, particularly at the hair’s surface, and then of course using hairspray. You can also check low taper fade for a handsome look.
