(Newswire.net — February 6, 2015) Chicago, ILLINOIS –Digital Dentistry is at a tipping point, and that is why the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) will host a two-day “Harness the Power of Digital Dentistry Symposium” in Chicago on Feb. 23-24, 2015. The ACP believes digital solutions can significantly improve workflow efficiencies and enhance patient encounters and is pleased to bring programming on this critical topic to all of dentistry.

“Digital technologies have progressed to the point that Prosthodontists can now realize significantly improved patient experiences by saving time, providing less traumatic experiences and gaining better outcomes. Digital workflows allow Prosthodontists to directly control the design and final outcomes of treating and replacing missing or broken teeth in a way we could never realize with conventional services, all while offering incredible efficiencies in our workflow, making smiles and changing lives,” said ACP President Frank J. Tuminelli, DMD, FACP.

Symposium Speakers

Prosthodontists, general dentists, dental specialists, dental laboratory technicians, residents, and dental students who want their practices to lead the future of dental care delivery systems with patient-focused digital dentistry solutions are encouraged to attend the symposium.

“Digital Dentistry and Prosthodontics are rapidly approaching a transformational tipping point for the prosthetic and diagnostic services we provide in caring for our patients,” board-certified Prosthodontist Lyndon F. Cooper, DDS, PhD, FACP, said about the rapidly changing environment of digital dentistry.

The advent of computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) has introduced a breakthrough technology with the potential to profoundly impact the future of oral health care, creating this tipping point. “The tipping point will realize total digital workflows, offering incredible efficiencies, control, patient experiences and outcomes,” said Dr. Stephen D. Campbell, DDS, MMSc, FACP.

An ACP study confirmed that the underlying cause for the unusually slow adoption of digital dentistry isn’t the technology or its effect on delivering better patient care. Rather, the slow adoption is due to a lack of understanding of its applications, benefits, and available education and training for its users. The ACP believes the field of dentistry is on the brink of a digital awakening. This symposium is designed for dental professionals who want to learn state-of-the-art digital dentistry solutions for the treatment of restorative patients. The best practices and actual clinical workflows essential to achieving the highest clinical and aesthetic results will be showcased by experienced Prosthodontists and dental technicians.  Attendees will be provided with the latest information on digital treatment technologies, ranging from individual tooth restoration to complex reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Registration will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2015. Interested parties can register at GoToAPro.org , mail inquires to ACP, 5198 Eagle Way, Chicago, IL 60678-5198, or fax to 312-573-1257. Registration is limited and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
