(Newswire.net — February 5, 2016) Dilkon, AZ –Shawn Redd, the first Native American to seek the Republican nomination for AZ CD1, will be attending the first AZ CD1 forum of the year which will be held at the Coconino County Republicans Annual Fundraiser on Lincoln Day, Monday, February 15, 2016. This forum will most likely be the only one that will be held in Northern Arizona.

Shawn was born and raised in the west and has more than 20 years of business experience on the Navajo Nation. He has operated a successful business in the 1st District for over 13 years now.

Among the issues Shawn is interested in are economic development, border issues, environmental issues, water and living conditions, improvement of employment, and issues affecting seniors and veterans. His innovative ideas and fundamental values will definitely be helpful in these areas.

“I am the only Republican candidate who can appeal to the diverse nature of our district and defeat a Democrat in November,” Shawn writes in his website. “Your vote will help me win the Republican Primary in August, so that I can help you win our district in the General Election in November.”

The fundraiser will be hosted by Flagstaff Mayor Jerry Nabours and City Councilman Jeff Oravits, both of which are up for reelection. The CD1 candidates that will be attending the forum are Paul Babeu, Ken Bennett, David Gowan, Gary Kiehne, and the newest one, Wendy Rogers.

Everyone is invited to the event, which will be held at the beautiful Doubletree Flagstaff. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and the program will start at 6:15. Dinner will then be served at 6:30. Dinner is priced at $50 per person, but it’s only $360 for a table of eight.

Raffles will also be run and there will be drawings for jewelry, gift certificates, wine baskets, and more. Two of the best prizes are the Colorado River Rafting trip and Janome sewing machine, with tickets priced at $10 each. The winners will be drawn towards the end of the program.

This will be a great opportunity to come out and meet the candidates and elected officials, enjoy great food, and win awesome prizes.

This event is only the first of several large events, and there will be more added to www.shawnredd.com.
