(Newswire.net — March 6, 2018) Bend, OR — The Center Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Care & Research is pleased to announce the addition of Ekaterina Urch, MD and Jules Huber, PA-C to our orthopedic sports medicine team.

Dr. Ekaterina Urch is a fellowship trained sports medicine physician with a passion for helping patients overcome injury to live an active and healthy life. From her experience as a collegiate volleyball player, she understands firsthand the frustration and stress that injury can cause. Dr. Urch treats patients of all ages with diverse orthopedic injuries. She specializes in injuries and conditions of the knee and shoulder, with a particular interest in women’s health and caring for female athletes and other active women.

Dr. Urch earned her medical degree at New York University where she graduated at the top of her class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency training at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City where she trained with some of the world’s leading orthopedic surgeons.

During her time in New York, her athletic achievements were also recognized and she was inducted into the New York University Athletic Hall of Fame for captaining the women’s volleyball team and bringing it to national prominence. She went on to complete a fellowship in sports medicine at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. During her time in Los Angeles, she helped take care of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and served as a team physician for Loyola Marymount University. Dr. Urch is excited to continue her career alongside the team of passionate and driven physicians at The Center.

Jules Huber, PA-C, PT is a board certified physician assistant that graduated from Stanford in 2013. She worked as a lead surgical and clinical physician assistant at Valleta Orthopedics in San Diego for four years. Before earning a master’s degree in physician assistant studies, Jules owned a physical therapy clinic in San Diego. She performed physical therapy evaluations using both water and manual therapy skills. Her physical therapy background has been a great advantage in improving her patient’s outcomes and helping them get back to the things they love to do quicker. Jules moved to Central Oregon in 2017 to be closer to family. She enjoys biking, skiing, mountaineering, home improvement projects, and spending time with her family.
