(Newswire.net — June 12, 2018) Orlando, FL — Health experts have long been warning the public against the dangers of excessive salt intake. In some studies, it was found to have detrimental effects inside the body.

In a new study, the scientists had teens and adolescents for subjects who consumed too much salt. It was found that it led to measurable changes in the blood vessels, which are linked with early symptoms of cardiovascular disease in adults.

It was in the 2017 Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting in San Francisco that the findings were presented.

According to researchers, the hardening of the arteries is also called arterial stiffness. It is a popular risk factor, not just from strokes, but also heart attacks in adults.

In recent studies, it was found that there is an increase in arterial stiffness in youths with certain risk factors. This includes hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol and obesity.

The National Institutes of Health also funded a study involving 775 participants from a children’s hospital in Ohio. It was found that higher average sodium intake on a daily basis was linked with higher levels of stiffness.

This stiffness was observed not just in the peripheral arteries in the extremities, but also in central arteries. These changes were tied to the consumption of sodium.

Elaine M. Urbina, MD, MS, Director of Preventive Cardiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and lead author of the study revealed this result.

More and more health experts are warning the public, particularly adolescents and young adults, to reduce sodium intake.

It is important to understand that the changes linked with high intake of salt can potentially increase the risk in the body for future heart attacks and stroke.

According to the American Heart Association, there are 60.8 million people in the United States who suffer from a heart condition. In addition to sodium intake, there are also other contributing factors like high fat diet and sedentary lifestyle.

In recent research, it was found that B vitamins like vitamin B12, folic acid, and vitamin B6 have a potential to help. This is due to their ability to reduce homocysteine levels.

It is important to understand that excessive amounts of this naturally occurring amino acid called homocysteine leads to build up in the blood. It is thought to be the cause of arterial inflammation and damage.

Researchers suggest that increased intake of vitamin B6, B12, and folic acid may potentially work in fighting heart disease. This is due to their ability to enhance vascular endothelial function, as well as related flow-mediated vasodilation.

More studies are still underway to validate the effects of these nutrients against heart disease. However, it may be best to consume Purest Vantage B Vitamin Complex for preventive health purposes.

It contains Choline, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Pantothenic acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin and vitamin B6.
