(Newswire.net — March 2, 2022) Orlando, FL — The older population has long been reputed to be more susceptible to age-related conditions. However, it is worth realizing that they are also susceptible to having troubled sleep.

Experts reveal that older Americans tend to have difficulty achieving a good night’s rest.

This study was published in The American Journal of Medicine.

According to Dr. Harrison G. Bloom, sleep problems and sleep disorders are not an inherent part of aging.

Bloom is a senior associate at the International Longevity Center-USA and associate clinical professor of geriatrics and medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.

“It’s pretty much of a myth that older people need less sleep than younger people,” he adds.

Study author Dr. Juli Gammack reveals that people tend to have “sleep fragmentation,” meaning they wake up more often during the night.

Gammack, an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Geriatric Medicine at St. Louis University.

They also appear to get less “REM” sleep, which is the sleep type involving the occurrence of rapid eye movement.

Experts have long been stressing the importance of getting adequate sleep for overall health. It is essential to remember that sleep deprivation has been linked with the onset of certain health issues.

Scientists have been carrying out studies to learn more about how the body works and what it needs to get a restful sleep. It has been found that nutrients like magnesium play a significant role in achieving and maintaining a good slumber.

Magnesium is one of the most common minerals on earth and can be found in various healthy foods. In some studies, it has been discovered to be involved in more than 600 cellular reactions throughout the body.

It has been found every cell and organ inside the body requires this mineral to properly function. When the body is unable to function, it reduces the ability of the body to get some sleep normally.

Research reveals that magnesium’s ability to fight inflammation and relax the brain aids in achieving good sleep. It is also worth noting that its use is actually associated with a myriad of health benefits.

Inadequate levels of this macromineral are also found to trigger sleep issues. This is why it is strongly recommended to ensure that the body gets adequate levels of magnesium.

While it can be found in many highly nutritious foods, there are also supplements like Divine Bounty Magnesium Citrate that could work wonders in delivering its healing goodness (http://www.amazon.com/Divine-Bounty-Magnesium-Citrate-Supplement/dp/B01LYWPNY6).
