To do this she has written two books, “Keys to your Destiny” and “Money Bootcamp: Financial Literacy for Teens”. She also offers online financial literacy training. For Chella Diaz, her career in finance and banking began as an Underwriter reviewing real estate loans. After 20 years she began working with Home Savings of America reviewing REO appraisals. After a little over 6 years she became a vice president of Quality Control. The job required her to review suspicious activity on accounts which had been filed with the FBI. Her experience in banking and finance enabled her to develop a wide range of valuable skills. It gave her an understanding of mortgage lending and underwriting, loan origination, loan refinancing, real estate, loss mitigation, credit analysis, and customer service.
Her overall experience in banking and finance also taught her two very important things. One was how misinformed many people are when it comes to managing money. The other was that the best way for people to learn basic money management skills is to begin when they’re young. So she combined her knowledge and experience with her belief in the need for young people to learn how to manage money and wrote Money Boot Camp. It is a book designed to teach financial literacy to teens. The book covers the importance of goal setting, saving, smart shopping, and keeping track of your spending.
A little over 3 years ago Chella Diaz founded MoneyIQ901, a consumer services organization in the Greater Los Angeles area. Through this organization she gives people easy to understand tools to help people better handle credit card debt, take the stress out of paying bills, and achieve financial success. She also has an online program, www.debtfree123.us. Through the show she helps people pay off their mortgage and all other types of debt in 1/2 to 1/3 the time it would normally take.
Chella also created a game called, “Keys to your Destiny”. It lets young people have fun while teaching them to live within their budget and manage their money.
