Flossing Made Fun

(Newswire.net — March 10, 2015)  — Getting children to brush their teeth has been quite a challenge on its own. But the effort it takes to get them to floss puts everything else to shame. You can logically relay the benefits of flossing to them, such as preventing tooth decay and gingivitis, aiding in fighting halitosis or bad breath.

The reality is trying wrapping your fingers with floss and awkwardly sticking them in your mouth to maneuver around your teeth is just a cumbersome process. But, the creators of GumChucks designed their product specifically to overcome this challenge. The are created in the design of small num-chucks with two individual sticks connected by a pair of tips secured together by the floss. Rather than sticking your fingers in your mouth, the GumChucks easily allow everyone, including young kids with dexterity issues, the ability to reach even the most difficult back teeth.

They come in three different sizes or styles: smaller for children, larger for adults and another specifically designed for individuals with braces. Gum disease can affect people of all ages, in all stages of life. Beginning good dental hygiene at a young age, while instilling healthy habits beginning with children, will protect them through their life to ensure they have a healthy mouth and healthy gums.

One of the nice things the design of the GumChucks allows is for the ‘C’ of wrapping the floss around the tooth to adequately dislodge plaque from even under the gum line. This ‘C’ shape is what is recommended for best flossing technique.

You can get a starter kit for adults, kids or people with braces. These starter kits come with 10 tips. You can then order 60 pack (or 2 months worth) of replacement tips. If you sign up for automatic re-orders you can even save with a 20% discount. And as a single mom of 6 kids, I am always on the lookout for ways to save! You can get a starter kit for kids, adults or braces, as well as the replacement tips.

The design is ingenious. I avoided flossing as a kid, and even as an adult until those mini flossing picks were developed. But even those little flossing picks were difficult and cumbersome. I am very excited to see this product and more excited to get the kids trying it out. Three of the 6 kids are currently in braces with a fourth going in them beginning next year. With as much money as I have spent on teeth at the dentist and now investing in their braces, I am eager to ensure their mouths remain healthy. With GumChucks I feel the family will all be able to take care of their mouths.

I am looking forward to seeing the dentist and orthodontist after a few weeks of using our new GumChucks and the improvement in the kids gums. When asked, the kids will proudly bring out their GumChucks as the weapons for fighting off their gum disease!
