Local high school football coach, Scott Tucker, announced Wednesday that he will be offering private coaching for youth players in Mississippi’s Pine Belt area. Tucker is a well-respected coach in the area.

“Friday night football is important to the people of the south. We play for the win,” Tucker says. “These boys are raised with a love of football, and a few of them have what it takes – the drive, passion, and guts to be amazing at this game.”

Tucker plans to work privately with a small group of highly talented boys ages 15-17. The boys must also be a part of Tucker’s high school football team. Tucker will train his selected team members privately in weight lifting and conditioning training from March-July.

“There is a lot of young football talent in the Southern Mississippi area.” Tucker says. “The more practice and conditioning these boys get, the more likely they are to be scouted for college ball during their high school football career.”

Several of Tucker’s past high school football players have gone on to play college football for teams such as Auburn University, University of Southern Mississippi, and Florida State University.

“I want to work with seasoned players, the freshmen aren’t ready for this kind of training. My goal is to get these boys ready for college team scouts who may be coming to our games next year.” Tucker says. “I will work with the boys individually, but I also expect them to be at a small group weight training session, as well as regular football practice with the whole team each week.”

Tucker’s 2014-2015 football team tryouts will be held in the upcoming weeks, and Tucker will be looking for his talent during these high intensity training sessions. Spring football training for the team is set to begin mid-March. Tucker’s private coaching sessions will revolve around the same schedule.
