(Newswire.net — June 05, 2013) London, UK — Spring cleaning is in the air, if the number of professional cleaning expos and shows scheduled around Europe during April is anything to judge by. Cleaning shows were held in Romania, Russia and France, along with the ISSA/Interclean show for Central and Eastern Europe. These shows come in the wake of the UK’s cleaning show, held in March. April also saw an important trade industry shows taking place on the other side of the globe in time for the spring cleaning season, with the World Federation of Building Services Contractors’ Conference scheduled to take place in New York at the end of the month.
The largest of the four European professional cleaning trade shows scheduled for April was the ISSA/Interclean Central and Eastern Europe show. This took take place in Warsaw, Poland, in the Warsaw International Expo Centre, and was held on April 24–26. One of the features of this international cleaning show is the Golden Broom award, which aims to stimulate new design and thinking in the area of cleaning products, with multiple prize categories open for competition. This cleaning show is held every two years, with the last one being held in 2011. The 2011 event was the fourth largest cleaning show in Europe for that year, with representatives from over 1000 companies from 57 countries attending.
The other cleaning show event that was of great interest to professional cleaners in the UK was the Europropre cleaning show that was held in Paris, France on April 16–18. As well as being an opportunity for cleaning industry professionals to showcase new products, services and methods, this event doubles as a conference, with plenary lectures on “green cleaning” topics such as new developments for managing the waste stream and reducing carbon footprints planned, as well as debates and workshops on other aspects of the professional cleaning industry. Over 12,000 people were expected to attend this event, along with 200 or so exhibitors.
“It’s a busy time of year, all right, for a professional cleaner,” said a representative from the London-based cleaning company Anyclean Premium Ltd. “You’ve got all these shows and conferences overseas that provide the opportunity to learn about new products and new thinking in the world of cleaning, but you’ve also got the actual work of spring cleaning to do. It would be great to be able to visit them all next year. Maybe the Europropre should be on the list to visit – after all, the chance to visit Paris in the spring, even for work purposes, is always welcome.”
