(Newswire.net — August 17, 2022) Orlando, FL — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in its 2022 National Diabetes Statistics Report, reveals there is an estimated number of over 130 million adults with diabetes or prediabetes in the United States.

Multiple research studies had been carried out to look into the preventive remedies against the condition.

A new study now highlights the link between healthy plant-based diets and a reduced risk of developing diabetes.

The findings of this new research were published in Diabetologia, which is the journal of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes [EASD]).

This study shows that intake of healthy plant-based foods, which include fruits, vegetables, nuts, coffee, and legumes, is correlated with a lowered risk of developing type 2 diabetes (T2D) in generally healthy people.

This study was carried out by Professor Frank Hu and colleagues at the Department of Nutrition, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Boston, MA, USA.

The researchers sought to identify the metabolite profiles associated with different plant-based diets. Further, they aimed at investigating the possible associations between those profiles and the odds of developing T2D.

More than 90 percent of diabetes causes are the type 2 form, and such a condition has long been known to pose a major threat to health worldwide.

“Our findings support the beneficial role of healthy plant-based diets in diabetes prevention and provide new insights for future investigation…our findings regarding the intermediate metabolites are at the moment intriguing but further studies are needed to confirm their causal role in the associations of plant-based diets and the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.”

It is worth mentioning that the global prevalence of the condition in adults had more than tripled in less than two decades. The cases increased from around 150 million in 2000 to more than 450 million in 2019. Further, it is projected to rise to around 700 million in 2045.

The scientific community continues to carry out research studies in looking into potentially helpful techniques in reducing the prevalence of diabetes. Time and again researchers stress the relevance of making dietary and lifestyle modifications for disease protection.

There are also certain plant-based remedies like the ancient, medicinal spice called turmeric found to have strong diabetes-fighting effects.

It is widely obtained today through the use of superior-strength and highly potent formulas like VitaBreeze Glucosamine, which contains turmeric. This amazing formula is widely resorted to nowadays and is believed to be superior to other brands (http://amazon.com/Glucosamine-Chondroitin-Turmeric-Dietary-Supplement/dp/B00DUMO9X4).
