“Chris and Piggy Go to Hollywood,” the new animated movie that author and artist Scott Tucker is currently working on, will hit home entertainment systems in 2015. The screenplay has been finalized and auditions are expected to begin shortly. MovieFavorites’ founder Andrea McCann will direct the film.
“Animated film is a contemporary art-form,” says Tucker. “It is the modern way of story-telling. While books are my first love, embracing film is a way to speak to bigger audiences of children.”
Chris and Piggy Go to Hollywood is the story of a child, Chris, who gets separated from his New York-bound family, boards a wrong plane and lands in Los Angeles. Here, he meets Piggy, a talking pig that has a flare for acting. A sequence of hilarious events unfolds as the two characters explore backstage Hollywood in search of their big break in Hollywood.
“We want the movie to appeal to all age groups, instead of the very young children that Tucker usually writes for,” says McCann. “It’s non-stop fun for the whole family, which is exactly what we aim for here at MovieFavorites.”
Tucker is planning to outsource the graphic animation to an overseas production house who has worked on several successful animated films. The music score is already under development and the production team is preparing a casting strategy.
“I think a lot of our future success depends on the voices that different characters have,” says Tucker. “We are considering some famous voice-over artists for the roles of Chris and Piggy, the lead characters in the movies.”
Chris and Piggy Go to Hollywood is scheduled for release during the Christmas season of 2015. The movie’s script and music score will be written by Tucker.
