(Newswire.net — October 28, 2019) Orlando, FL — According to the Health24 article, the eighth leading cause of death is cirrhosis. It even kills about 25,000 individuals every year. While in itself cirrhosis is already dangerous, it appears that it can also produce more undesirable health consequences.

A new study found that cirrhosis may increase an older person’s risk for stroke. This condition called cirrhosis is characterized by a stiffening of the liver tissue, which is often linked with excessive alcohol intake.

It is worth mentioning that stroke is caused by a burst blood vessel or due to the fact that a blood vessel has been blocked by a blood clot. This deprives the area of oxygen.

Dr Neal Parikh, team leader, said that cirrhosis was linked with an increased risk of stroke, specifically haemorrhagic stroke. The study had a nationally representative sample of elderly individuals with vascular risk factors.Parikh is from Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

The research team monitored 2008-2014 data for over 1.6 million Medicare patients older than 66. This study found that over 1 percent of those who did not have cirrhosis suffered from strong during the average year. However, the number actually jumped to more than 2 percent for those with liver condition.

The American Stroke Association reveals that haemorrhagic or “bleeding” stroke comprises about 13 percent of strokes.

Further, most of the stroke cases are ischemic, which means they happen due to clots. The researchers suggest that impaired clotting ability could be behind the link between cirrhosis and increased risk of stroke. The findings were published in the journal JAMA Neurology.

Experts have long been recommending to take the measures necessary just to protect liver health. It can be made by avoiding consumption of alcohol, and perhaps use remedies like milk thistle.

According to research, this medicinal plant is good for liver health. In some studies, it has been found to fight alcoholic cirrhosis, acute viral hepatitis, drug and alcohol induced liver damage, fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatic toxicity caused by the use of steroid.

It is worth mentioning that milk thistle has been found to have positive effects on toxic liver damage and even chronic liver disease. Some experts have even found it is helpful in speeding up the regeneration process in damaged liver tissue.

To experience its benefits, it is wise to take into account the use of Divine Bounty Milk Thistle. This amazing formula is popularized widely by its high potency and purity. It could be helpful for individuals who want to improve the health and protection of their liver (www.amazon.com/Milk-Thistle-Supplement-Standardized-Extract/dp/B01LWI4A51).
