The CDC Warns Osteoporosis Significantly Increases Odds of Dangerous Fractures

(Newswire.net — July 24, 2019) Orlando, FL — Health authorities have long been stressing the importance of maintaining bone health. It is worth realizing that there are many undesirable consequences of having weakened bones.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 6 percent of men aged 65 years or older and one-quarter of all women have osteoporosis.

This is not at all surprising considering that today, more and more people are seriously taking their health for granted.

Dr. Saad Chaudhary says that osteoporosis and its precursor condition — osteopenia (low bone mass) — is not just a problem for the 80-year-old individual, but starts to become an issue for many adults in their 50s and 60s.

Dr. Chaudhary is a spine surgeon at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York City.

Anne Looker and Steven Frenk, of the CDC’s Division of Health and Nutrition Examination Statistics, looked into the 2005-2010 data from a major federal government health survey.

They found that over 16 percent of all seniors in the U.S. or about 25 percent of women and almost 6 percent of men suffer from full-blown osteoporosis.

It is further worth mentioning that the numbers rose even higher when osteopenia was involved. This condition takes place when bone loss is already apparent but hasn’t reached the stage of osteoporosis.

The CDC team of researchers also revealed that nearly 13 percent of adults between 65 and79 years of age had osteoporotic bones.

The report was released Aug. 13 by the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics.

Researchers have long been stressing the importance of taking the helpful measures in protecting and enhancing bone health. It is important to realize that taking care of the bones takes more than just following healthy diet and lifestyle.

In some studies, investigators found a link between osteoporosis and exposure to a common toxic metal called cadmium.

The World Health Organizations warns that osteoporosis is a greater threat than hypertension and breast cancer.

Cadmium can be found in water, air, and food, and in excessive levels, it is linked with low bone density. It has even been associated with osteopenia and full-blown osteoporosis.

A study has shown cadmium stimulates not just the activity but also the formation of osteoclasts, which are bone cells that break down and remove old bone tissue. It has further been found to disrupt calcium absorption.

It is wise to reduce exposure to this toxin or better yet detoxify the body. It is important to realize that detoxifying the body has long been found to produce a myriad of health benefits.

One of the safest and effective detoxification techniques is to use Divine Bounty Activated Charcoal, which is popularized by its high potency and purity (www.amazon.com/Organic-Activated-Charcoal-Capsules-Whitening/dp/B071NZ5G56).
