Here are the top ten reasons for considering a permanent move to Panama.

#4: The cost of living is higher in the capital, including medical costs. But you can still see a doctor in the city for $50 or less.

#5: Forget Obamacare! Panama health insurance can cost as little as $100 per month.

#6: Panama is no third-world country! All services including the Internet, cable TV, phone service, are just as reliable as the States. The roadways and highway systems being constantly expanded and improved. The canal is undergoing a major expansion project. Panama City is a world banking center where banks from all over the world have branches. ATMs are on every corner.

#7: The official currency of Panama is the Balboa. But it exchanges 1:1 with the U.S. dollar and everywhere the dollar is accepted so you don’t have to worry about currency-exchange risk.

#8: Panama City is a goto place is very easy to get to. A flight from Houston, for example, is only about 3 ½ hours.

#9: If you like nature, then Panama is a the place for you! Panama has some of the best surfing, snorkeling, diving, sport fishing, adventure jeep off-roading, zip-lining, birding, hiking, and … well you get the picture.

#10: Panama is a safe, welcoming place to call home. The former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega debacle was over 20 years ago and the country has taken steps to prevent an adventure like that again.
