New Scientific Breakthrough – Autism Supplements A Solution?

(Newswire.net — May 23, 2014) Fountain Hills, AZ —  It is common knowledge for most people today that gut bacteria serve a healthy function for everyday life.   Advertisements and information abound about the value of probiotics and digestive enzymes in allowing the body to optimally absorb and digest food.   However, with this recent new discovery, scientists now understand that the intestinal bacteria of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is distinctly different from that of non-autistic children.

This distinction may indeed be instrumental to a better understanding of how to potentially treat autism.

The research unveiled that it is not only the bacteria that are different, but it is the chemicals that these bacteria generate that is critically different.  The impact of these chemicals is what has stirred the autism scientific community.

According to the author of the study, Dae-Wook Kang, “Most gut bacteria are beneficial, aiding food digestion, producing vitamins, and protecting harmful bacteria.  If left unchecked, however, harmful bacteria can excrete dangerous metabolites or disturb a balance in metabolites that can affect the gut and the rest of the body, including the brain.”

Kang noted that children with ASD had significantly different concentrations of seven of the 50 compounds they identified.  Kang added, “We suspect the gut microbes may alter levels of neurotransmitter-related metabolites affecting gut-to-brain communication and/or altering brain function.”

While this is the newest of scientific breakthroughs, other studies have reached similar conclusions regarding the likelihood of gut bacteria directly impacting the manifestation of autism symptoms.

There are many known factors which may influence the gut bacteria, including food consumed, genetic makeup, medical conditions, lifestyle, environmental exposure, medications, and nutritional supplementation.

The final factor of nutritional supplementation is what has recently ignited significant hope within the autism community.

While the scientific community has yet to definitively state that autism supplements are an essential part of the solution, may doctors across the country have begun advising their patients affected by ASD to take quality autism supplements.

One company, Purely Scientific, has been on the leading-edge creating solutions to target the digestive deficiencies found in Autism Spectrum Disorder.  According to the Company spokesperson, Donald B. Opp, “We challenged our scientific team to create a solution that not only includes the patented form of the enzyme complex DDP-IV (which is known to be deficient in autism), but also includes all of the essential digestive enzymes and probiotics that science has clearly demonstrated will help the autistic child.”

He added that only after years of laboratory testing did they release the product exclusively to doctors.  Doctors across the country began offering this to their patients.  Pediatricians noted that after 4-8 weeks of continued use, most autistic children began showing increased eye contact and social engagement.

“It is precisely these positive success stories that keep us working hard to deliver even more benefit in the ever-evolving world of Autism Supplements,”  he notes.

The company’s product, known as “3-in-1 Digestive Formula” was released to the general public just six months ago, due to the increasing demand.  It is now available on Amazon.
