(Newswire.net — September 9, 2014) Thomson, Illinois — THOMSON, Illinois – The overalls-clad, joke-telling Tennessee Mafia Jug Band will bring its hilarious, foot-stomping, old-time country music show to the Heirloom Market & Café Saturday (Sept. 13) for an outdoor concert that begins at 5 p.m.
The five-member band describes its music as “not what’s on the radio today” and features a fiddle, jug, banjo, scrub board, bass fiddle and acoustic guitar. It tours the country and has performed multiple times on RFD-TV’s “The Marty Stuart Show,” as well as at the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium. The band also played at the Heirloom Market & Café last year.
With songs like “Good Ole Mountain Dew” and “Ghost Chickens In The Sky,” the group’s unique style – an off-shoot of “Hee Haw” – is sure to entertain.
Tickets are $12 at the gate but can be purchased for $10 before the show at the café or at TheHeirloomMarket.com. Children 12 and under are free. It’s a “bring-your-own-lawnchair” event.
The group calls Goodlettsville, Tennessee, its home. Contemporary country music, this band is not.

The group also has entertained for film stars Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie over the years, traveling from Canada to Texas and many locations in between.
