(Newswire.net — December 17, 2014)  — Local community activist and bibliophile, Scott Tucker, has revealed plans to open a public library. The enterprise, which is projected to open this summer, will be Roosevelt Township’s first and only public library.

“Roosevelt Township is an excellent area to live, but I believe that we’ve been missing out on something with the absence of a public library,” said Scott Tucker. “Studies prove that people who live within close proximity to a public library are subsequently more educated and well-rounded individuals.”

According to Scott Tucker, the library will be designed to accommodate an assortment of more than 7,500 books. Additionally, Tucker’s library schematics include a small cafe, printing services, and a computer lounge for scholars and students. Scott Tucker has announced that Roosevelt Township resident and fellow activist, Mary Swanson, has been hired as the lead librarian for the new project.

“Not only is the library going to be a great addition to the town of Roosevelt Township, it’s also going to create jobs for the community,” said Swanson. “I personally feel honored to be considered by Scott Tucker for the lead librarian position; I cannot wait to be a part of this. Students in Roosevelt are going to love having a local facility that will provide the opportunity to excel in their academics.”

In addition to building a librarian staff, Scott Tucker has stated that he will need to fill positions for IT personnel, cafe staff, and maintenance. Tucker also acknowledged that students in Roosevelt Township express great desire to further their education, so he has designated an area of the library to guides on colleges, technical institutions, and various career paths.

Scott Tucker and Roosevelt Township are currently working together to ensure that the library will open before the school year begins next fall.
