Award winning artist Scott Tucker announced today in a press conference held at his studio that his abstract series “Metamorphosis” was chosen for a solo art exhibition at the Nature Art Gallery in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Scott is an international artist, best known for his dynamic and colorful abstract oil paintings. The Nature Art Gallery has selected Tucker’s work for a solo show in the spring of 2015. The exhibition will be curated by art critic Tyler Smith.

Scott Tucker, who lives and creates his art in Poughkeepsie, New York, has been an artist there and abroad for more than 25 years.

“I am very delighted to be chosen by the Nature Art Gallery for this solo show,” said Scott Tucker. “It is nice to be recognized in my hometown, but of course nobody pursues art for recognition. But it definitely makes me happy, because it is where I have been living and working for so long.”

The show will be exhibited throughout the months of March, April, and May. Pieces will be for sale, and Tucker will attend the first night of “Metamorphosis” to answer questions and talk to admirers. Light refreshments and wine will be served.

“The term Metamorphosis, in biology refers to the process by which an organism physically develops. It relates to the successive transformative stages in the lifespan of an organism. Through metamorphosis a caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly,” said Tucker. “The body of work on display shows different ideas of transformation or metamorphosis. I’m so happy to share it with others.”

Through diverse media, Scott has attempted to understand both physical and psychological change. He has drawn inspiration from the surrealism art movement as well as artists and photographers whose work investigates similar themes.

“Through this body of work, our dear Scott has tried to articulate his own identity,” said gallery owner Lottie DeViene. “But it really works on so many levels – I think ‘Metamorphosis’ will speak volumes to everyone who sees it.”

The exhibition will begin March 1st, with a night time reception that is open to all.
