(Newswire.net — March 7, 2015) Chapel Hill, North Carolina — Chapel Hill Primary Care has been serving the residents of the Triangle for several years, recently expanding the practice to offer services to patients beginning at 13 years of age. With the recent addition of Dr. Nzingha White to the team, healthcare is now more accessible to diverse communities.

“Dr. White’s arrival is an important moment for Chapel Hill Primary Care,” says Dr. Remy Coeytaux, founder and owner of the medical practice. “Not only is she a board-certified family medicine physician and board-certified preventive medicine doctor, but she has a special interest in addressing health disparities and caring for underserved populations. These include seniors and patients who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT).”  Dr. White is also conversant in Spanish, he adds, which enables her to provide healthcare services for members of the local Latino community.

After completing, a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, a minor degree in Spanish and an osteopathic medical degree, Dr. White attended UNC-Chapel Hill where she went on to complete residencies in both family medicine and preventive medicine and obtained a master’s degree in public health. She brings a holistic approach to medicine, and enjoys using osteopathic manipulation techniques to help treat musculoskeletal conditions.

“I became a family physician because I enjoy all aspects of medicine, health and healing, and partnering with my patients, their families and communities in their journey to achieve—and maintain—health,” says Dr. White. “My focus is to educate and guide patients to make informed decisions about their health, and explore ways to improve their health through nutrition, physical activity and managing stress.”

“Dr. White offers care for both acute and chronic conditions, as well as preventive healthcare and screening,” says Dr. Coeytaux. “She also performs minor skin procedures, administers joint injections and carries out gynecological processes such as pap smears and endometrial biopsies.”

With her extensive qualifications and her “whole-person” approach to health, Dr. White will significantly add to the value Chapel Hill Primary Care offers residents of the area.
