(Newswire.net — May 21, 2015) Philadelphia, PA — The NTSB continues to investigation the Amtrak train accident in Philadelphia on May 12, 2015. The Amtrak train was the Northeast Regional train bound for New York City. Eight people were killed and over 200 were injured. Chief concerns are is the unexplained speed of the train at the curve in the track when the Amtrak train derailed around 9:20 pm that evening. In addition, it has been noted that safety controls should have been in place to control the speed and must be immediately installed.

Positive Train Control (PTC) was installed by not operational given money constraints. Given the number of injuries and deaths, the investigation is expected to be thorough and lengthy.
