Scientists Warn Disrupted Sleep Increases Cardiovascular Disease Risk

(Newswire.net — August 3, 2020) Orlando, FL — Over decades, researchers have been looking into the impacts of sleep and the lack or deprivation thereof on health.

According to experts, sleep deprivation is linked with the increased odds of certain diseases. Sleep disruption, on the other hand, has been found to be linked with certain health disadvantages like one affecting the heart.

A study was carried out by Raphael Vallat, Vyoma Shah, and Matthew Walker of the University of California at Berkeley and colleagues.

The findings of this research were published in the open-access journal called PLOS Biology.

In this research, it has been found there is a link between sleep disruption and the increased odds of atherosclerosis. It has been particularly found that fragmented sleep has the ability to exacerbate atherosclerosis.

The investigators even reveal it could potentially increase the odds of stroke due to its impact on inflammatory pathways. They tried to see if the effect was in part due to increased inflammatory signaling.

The results revealed that via actigraphy measurement, sleep fragmentation has been able to predict

both higher neutrophil (but not monocyte) counts and higher coronary artery calcium, which is a measure of atherosclerosis pathology.

The researchers also utilized a statistical method called mediation analysis, and it revealed the increase in neutrophils mediated the influence of sleep fragmentation on coronary artery calcium.

This essentially means poor sleep results in the increase in neutrophils, atherosclerosis has stayed significant.

Today, scientists continue to carry out research studies to look into the link between sleep and heart health. Some of these studies suggest that certain nutrients like B vitamins may be an excellent choice for individuals who want to maintain good sleep and a healthy heart.

According to research, maintaining adequate levels of vitamins B3, B5, B6, B9, and B12 may be helpful in achieving good sleep. It is worth noting that B vitamins may be significantly helpful in regulating the levels of the body’s tryptophan.

This is an amino acid vital in maintaining healthy sleep. Researchers also suggest that B6 as well as folate may aid in battling with cardiovascular disease. This is due to their ability to reduce levels of homocysteine, which is an amino acid in the blood affected by heredity and diet.

More studies are still underway to explore more of how nutrients work to benefit sleep and cardiovascular health.

However, it remains true that B vitamins produce a myriad of health benefits. They are so important that their deficiencies are even linked with undesirable health consequences.

To benefit from their healing goodness, it is wise to take into account the use of Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex.

It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6 (https://amazon.com/dp/B07414752B).
