(Newswire.net — August 26, 2020) — Kratom causes both stimulating and sedative effects. The stimulant ones tend to be faster and shorter than the sedative ones. The effects vary from person to person, depending on the different factors that can affect. For most people, Kratom affects mood and energy, reducing anxiety, causing feelings of well-being and making them more active and strong.

At the same time, the alkaloids contained in Kratom also act as calming, thanks to their predominantly opiate-like analgesic effects. Some Thai workers use Kratom to better handle the most grueling working days.

The first effects are felt after five to ten minutes of taking and can cause feelings of empathy, euphoria, increased sociability and talkativeness, for several hours. Kratom does not cause psychedelic activity, although the biphasic action activated by its chemical compounds results in more stimulating and euphoric sensations at low doses and sedatives at higher doses.

The alkaloids

The leaves of the Kratom tree contain two Mitragynine alkaloids. These phytochemicals bind to some of the body’s opiate receptors, causing similar effects (such as pain relief). That’s why Kratom can replace traditional pain relievers. Unlike opiates, however, the mitragynine in Kratom does not create severe physical dependence and does not cause respiratory depression, which is potentially lethal.

Conversely, its effects can help reduce symptoms related to opioid withdrawal. The strong analgesic activity of the chemical compounds contained in Kratom make this plant a perfect natural remedy for treating chronic pain and for local anesthesia.

Another effect of mitragynine, equally useful for treating certain pathological conditions, is the reduction of smooth muscle tone.

Stabilizes the release of adrenaline

In most people, the effects of Kratom on opiate receptors are beneficial for depression, stress and anxiety. In addition to the action on our alkaloid neuronal receptors, the phytochemicals of this herb can also bind to the adrenaline receptors, modulating anxiety and raising the mood.

These effects do not completely cure depression or increase energies and sensory perceptions, but they cause a more stable and positive state of mind. Some people use Kratom to lift their mood and increase attention.

Some side effects

The side effects of Kratom are few and can vary from person to person. Normally, you notice how your mental clarity is altered, accompanied by dry mouth, dilated pupils, increased urination, loss of appetite and constipation.

In most cases, and at normal dosages, mitragynine does not cause nausea or vomiting. At higher doses, however, it can cause nausea, prolonged sleepiness, increased body temperature and sweat. Slight feelings of depression may be felt during and after taking.

As is often the case with alcoholic beverages, Kratom can create a hangover with annoying headaches. When high and frequent consumption is stopped, mild to severe withdrawal symptoms may develop. Kratom products with additives can have other negative effects as well.

Different varieties, different effects

Several Kratom strains grow on our planet. What differentiates their effects is genetics. Since the effects of Kratom can vary greatly, it is critically important to know which strain you are consuming.

People interested in energizing effects should try the Kratom Thai or Maeng Da varieties, as Thai manual workers themselves usually do. Some consider these strains to have stronger and more prolonged stimulating effects than those of coffee, even if they are not as pleasant to ingest.

The potency of the Thai strain can also offer sedative effects, but Borneo and Indonesian strains are considered more suitable for treating insomnia problems. Those who use the most powerful and prolonged sensations of this substance to treat their pain usually choose the Bali, Indonesian, Malaysian or Maeng Da varieties.
