(Newswire.net — December 16, 2014)  –Author and education expert Scott Tucker is collaborating with family recreation website “Home And Recreation” to launch a fast-track online education program. Tucker is supervising the development of the curricula in consultation with experienced teachers and academics. The program has been designed for rapid grade advancement and better learning.

“State education has many problems,” said Tucker. “The system wastes pupils’ time, does not encourage independent thought, and imparts a very ordinary level of knowledge. That’s why our kids are behind European and Canadian kids.”

According to a Gallup poll conducted in 2012, more than half of Americans were dissatisfied with how the state schools operated, and the way these schools educate children. American students have been performing poorly in international academic tests, such as the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). Many Americans are considering home schooling their kids, believing parents can provide a better education than public schools.

“The website that we are building will provide support to the parents who prefer to school their kids at home, but have no guidance available,” says Emma Brown, who is heading the project for Home And Recreation. “Our courses meet the standards of all 52 states, and compare favorably to the EU and South America.”

The website will initially offer English and Mathematics for K-12 students. Students will be able to advance grades in 16 weeks, with a 30-minute daily study time per subject. More subjects will be added to the website later on.
