(Newswire.net — April 24, 2015) Salt Lake City, Utah — Pianist Paul Cardall has more reason to celebrate today because his new album, 40 Hymns for Forty Days, reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s New Age Album list — just like his previous album  “New Life” which stayed on top for three weeks in 2011. Listen to Paul Cardall on Pandora here.

Cardall, who successfully survived a life-threatening congenital heart defect and heart transplant, will present a LIVE one-hour online concert to commemorate the National Day of Prayer, May 7, 1 pm ET.

Cardall invites other musicians to join him. “I’d like to have an artist perform every hour during the 24 hour period, so we can fill the internet with a wide range of grateful melodies to  express a mutual honor of God.”

Cardall, listed among Steinway’s most accomplished pianists, suffered from heart failure and was given one year to live. But that was five years ago.

“I turned to music to help me survive, and now these expressions are helping others too,” Cardall said. “I receive amazing stories from people overcoming amazing situations in life because they were able to find peace through my music, therapy for their soul.”

Cardall represents a modern-day musician, embracing social media and digital distribution. His fan base reaches more than 100 nations, spanning a wide variety of cultures, race and religions, according to a Facebook analysis.

Concerning 40 Hymns For Forty Days, Cardall said he was inspired to share his gratefulness for a whole heart, literally.

“My music is much like a prayer made with a piano. I hope this album, perhaps even more than the other 15 I’ve done, inspires listeners to survive difficulties, and gain hope because a new day is coming,” he said. “Throughout the Bible, we learn of 40 day periods when people were tested and prepared for a greater purpose. Jesus was in the wilderness 40 days, and today his ministry remains. All of us are experiencing challenges, and this music is a soundtrack for those forty day journeys.”

40 Hymns for Forty Days is on 2 discs / 109 minutes long and is distributed by Stone Angel Music through Alliance Entertainment (CDBaby) and Deseret Book Distribution. Pandora Radio is streaming Cardall’s new album to more than a million people world-wide.
