Speaker Repairer Established a Niche From Necessity

(Newswire.net — June 24, 2013) Tampa. FL — The Speaker Exchange is located in Tampa, Florida, however they are an international speaker repair company that established itself as a result of a hobby for taking apart speakers which grew into a business of identifying a consumer need.  Glenn Satin, The Speaker Exchange’s owner with his wife, started this business almost thirty years ago taking baby steps in satisfying the speaker repair needs of various people that had these needs.

Their storefront/ warehouse is indicative of how they grew their business as one can see when they enter their shop, there are speaker parts and components of every size and manufacturer that are neatly stored into shelves that methodically allow their repair team to access and address whatever speaker repair demands may come their way.

Satin talks about the evolution of their growth which largely came about from “reconers” (those companies that fixed speaker cones), and how they acquired them over time as the “reconers” went out of business.  It appears that there was a shift in the global speaker business and somewhat of a consolidation that forced some of the manufacturers or repair companies to leave the business while The Speaker Exchange stood still and embraced the change.

Having developed a passion for speaker components and repairing them, Satin and his wife looked carefully at the speaker landscape and recognized that there was this niche worldwide that needed to be filled.  They established an online presence whereby they receive more than 50% of their speaker repair business from international clients.

Supply and demand rule the roost when it comes to any business.  Speaker technology has not changed drastically as many other industries regarding music and components have, however the use and audience of speaker customers has shifted into larger venues and purposes, thus changing the size and capacity of speaker usages today.

With this expertise in speakers, The Speaker Exchange makes obsolescence almost “obsolete” in that speakers can and should be repaired since it is more cost effective to ship them to their warehouse and have them repaired and shipped back.  An interesting niche indeed for the speaker world and fortunate to have The Speaker Exchange open its doors to a wide audience of users and demand.
