What a perfect day for celebrations as today is World Plumbing Day.
Ottawa’s most trusted plumber celebrates 80 years in business. Started in 1933 (with services going back to the 1870’s) Master Plumber Dave Francis celebrates the lifelong achievements of his grandfather H.G. Francis and his father Reg Francis by keeping the legacy alive and growing in 2013 and much to their delight celebrates this occasion on the same day is World Plumbing Day!
World Plumbing Day is an international event on March 11 initiated by the World Plumbing Council celebrating the important role plumbing plays in the health and safety of modern society. After all the disasters over the last few years such as the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, 2011 tsunami in Japan and even Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans just a few years ago – the most devastating part of any of these disasters has been safe drinking water and sufficient sanitation systems that can be quickly rebuilt after a disaster.
Plumbers have always been in there providing clean drinking water to homes and businesses alike and properly functioning sanitation systems necessary to keep people healthy and alive.
When it comes to construction and rebuilding cities plumbers are the first tradesmen on a job site laying in drainage before foundations are even poured and the last on a job site finishing the details of fixtures. When there is an emergency plumbers are called 24 hours a day to fix the problem regardless of their own family lives.
Plumbers all too often put their jobs first taking care of others selflessly and few ever earn enough money to retire thus working till the day they die. World Plumbing Day recognizes Plumbers around the world and their steadfast contribution to global health and survival of humanity.
