(Newswire.net — August 23, 2013)Orlando, FL –A classic vintage Star Wars original figure which is the rarest in the world, and could fetch well over £12,000 when it is sold shortly at auction.

The UK manufactured Jawa figure from the first Star Wars movie way back in 1977, was probably bought for under one pound, around the time of the movie.

The company who made this vinyl caped Jawa was Palitoy, a toy company based in Leicester, UK, Palitoy lost the license to make Star Wars merchandise when the production moved to America and items like this, in this condition are very rare indeed.

The only other Jawa figure in this condition “known” to exist anywhere in the world was sold on eBay this year for £11,300 or just over $17,500 dollars!

This Jawa figure is to go on sale at Vectis Auctions in Thornaby, England who specialize in collectable toy auctions.

The proud owner of this very rare Star Wars figure wishes to remain anonymous & will not give any information in how they came to own this unique figure.

Expert valuer Kathy Taylor said: ‘This is one of the rarest Star Wars figures that has ever been sold. It is the Holy Grail for Star Wars memorabilia collectors.

‘Until the other figure, which was authenticated by the US-based Action Figure Authority, came on the market, people didn’t think the Palitoy-made Jawas with the vinyl capes even existed, so there was a lot of excitement when that was sold”.
