Phthalate Exposure Found To Negatively Impact Reproductive Health

(Newswire.net — December 28, 2022) Orlando, FL — Chemical compounds have long been studied due to the roles they play in the increasing rates of diseases and disorders.

A study has even shown that male infants whose mothers were exposed to phthalates during pregnancy have an increased risk of future infertility.

This research was spearheaded by Shanna H. Swan, Ph.D., Professor of Preventive Medicine and Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

The study, titled “First Trimester Phthalate Exposure and Anogenital Distance in Newborns” by S.H. Swan and colleagues, was published in the peer-reviewed journal Human Reproduction on February 19.

“Our findings show that even at low levels, environmental exposure to these ubiquitous chemicals can adversely affect male genital development, which in turn may impact male reproductive health later in life,” said Dr. Swan.

Swan is also a faculty member of The Mindich Child Health and Development Institute at Mount Sinai.

“Because most pregnant women are exposed to phthalates, our findings not only have a profound effect on public health but on the public policies meant to protect women as well as the general population.”

Specifically, the findings have shown that male children of mothers exposed to phthalates during the first trimester of pregnancy had significantly shorter anogenital distance (AGD) at birth. The chemical the researchers particularly looked into was particularly diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP).

It is worth noting that AGD is commonly 50 to 100 percent longer in males than females and is an indicator of reproductive health.

In animal and human studies carried out recently, investigators implicated DEHP and other phthalates in a spectrum of male reproductive disorders, which included shortened AGD.

It is important to be warned these are a class of environmentally pervasive industrial chemicals extensively utilized in various consumer products. These include flooring, wallpaper, lacquers, and personal care products.

There are many toxins experts have been warning against and that should be eliminated from the system. To have a body detox, it may be helpful to use activated charcoal.

Over the years, researchers have been highlighting the impressively porous surface of this remedy that enables it to help in cases of food poisoning and unburdening the body’s toxic burden. It is even used widely today for teeth whitening and relief of digestive health issues.

In taking advantage of the therapeutic goodness of this remedy, it may be wise to consider the use of superior-strength supplements like Divine Bounty Activated Charcoal (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071NZ5G57).
